Performance:
Pristina (2025) for solo flute by Giovanni Scapecchi
Claudio Marani, video performance
Monica Limongelli, flute

ENLIGHTENED is a performance born from the dialogue between sound and light; both are “ethereal” forms, two physical elements that exist only when, in wave form and each according to its own nature, they traverse space vibrating in the air. Each expands, creating its own shape. These ethereal forms, made solely of breath and light, glide through the air, move across space, transform, intersect, and generate images, figures, colors, and emotions.

The circle, one of the two marks in Scelsi’s signature, is the resonance space for the sound of the flute and the light waves; it is where the artist merges the vibrations of matter that lives, changes, transforms, and is illuminated.

The technology of ENLIGHTENED is an interactive projection where sound transforms the image in real time. The vibrations of the sounds are interpreted by the artist and transformed into an immense, multifaceted canvas, ever-changing in the moment it comes to life.
